FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, August 2, 2017 – Atlantix Partners hosted a women’s networking dinner and panel discussion at the 2017 PartnerConnect Emerging Manager Connect conference in New York, NY, titled “Retaining Existing Female Talent in Private Equity.”  This is the first year the conference agenda included an event specific to women, providing an opportunity to discuss the challenges and trends related to retention of women in private equity.

“This event provided a good platform to facilitate a discussion on the importance of women in private equity and highlight opportunities and strategies to retain female talent.  The session was further enhanced by the participation of both men and women who openly partook in this important dialogue.  Atlantix Partners is committed to facilitating an ongoing conversation on this significant topic,” said Alexandra Mores.

Alexandra Mores, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Atlantix Partners, moderated the discussion between panelists: Hilary Gosher, Managing Director of Insight Venture Partners, Susan Hawkins, Partner at BSG Team Ventures, and Carol Schleif, Deputy Chief Investment Officer at Abbot Downing.

“Recruiting and retaining great employees is a key success factor in business, said Susan Hawkins, Partner at BSG Team Ventures. “Improving the retention of talented women in private equity will prove to be a competitive asset for firms.”

“The varied backgrounds of the panelists brought a variety of perspectives and insights to this topic that I hadn’t necessarily considered previously, despite having worked on diversity and inclusion issues from many different angles.  Raising awareness is the key to changing ingrained and “automatic” behavior, and the panel helped raise awareness on a number of fronts,” said Carol Schleif, Deputy Chief Investment Officer at Abbot Downing.
