Reopening and Recovery Part 6: Emphasizing Cost Control

  |  June 16, 2020

In this post of our series on re-opening following the #covid19 crisis, we expand on our previous article discussing how IT Cost Control and Improving IT Operations were among the top priorities of IT Leaders. Today we are focusing on the IT Cost Control measures companies can consider right now.

Here are some helpful suggestions:

  1. Revisit your ERP and other key management systems licensing structure – there may be ways to reduce your recurring costs by ensuring your licensing and subscription model aligns with your user base
  2. Analyze your current Telecom contracts for both Voice and Data services – many companies are in the month to month stage of those agreements and lower costs can be achieved through negotiations or renewal
  3. Investigate your company’s on-premise data storage, archival, and disaster recovery costs and compare to Cloud-based services which have become very affordable and scalable

In our experience, there are always cost savings to be found within IT if you look hard enough and remain open-minded to alternative solutions.
